"What would have been a very long and painful treatment for gum disease was
accomplished in less than six hours and without any pain to speak of."
Dr. Prager,
I am moved to write and thank both you and your staff for the work you have done on my
teeth. As you know, I came to you with an extreme fear of dentistry and I must say that both
you and your staff have changed my attitude completely.
I am especially thankful for introducing the “PerioLase” treatment here in Bellingham. What
would have been a very long and painful treatment for gum disease was accomplished in
less than six hours and without any pain to speak of. Having to eat soft food for a few days
was the only down side for me. I cannot thank you enough.
The other restorative work you have done seems like magic to me. The lack of discomfort
and your attentive staff really made all the difference. My teeth feel great and I can now
happily smile without worrying about a chipped tooth ruining that first impression. The real
blessing you have given me is that I now have healthy teeth and gums. Thank you.
My very best to you and your staff,

"Under Dr. Prager's care, I have not experienced any of the painful procedures
previously recommended (by other dentists), nor have I lost any teeth."
My experience with the staff of Dr. Prager’s office and his use of laser treatment for my
dental care was outstanding!!
My reason for selecting the periolase treatment was easy. Before Dr. Prager's evaluation,
the recommended solution to my dental problem was to have painful gum surgery along
with tooth extraction and dental implant screw placement in my jaws. I really did not want to
lose any more of my natural teeth. Fortunately, I happened to read about Dr. Prager’s new
approach of using laser treatment to solve dental problems just like mine!
After my initial appointment, I knew I had made the right choice. Under Dr. Prager's care, I
have not experienced any of the painful procedures previously recommended, nor have I
lost any teeth. For me, this was a win-win experience.
Would I recommend Dr. Prager to my friends? You bet I would!!

"There were no surprises, extremely minimal discomfort (I’ve had worse paper cuts),
very considerate, the welcomed manner of reassurance was comforting, no waiting
room time, plus I feel it was fairly priced for the amount of major work required."
There’s no question about it, I hold the dubious honor of being in the top 10 of “biggest
sissies” when it comes to going to the dentist. Because of this childhood borne fear, it takes
a tremendous amount of discomfort to urge me to actually place a call for help. After years
of improper dental hygiene, the moment came when I had to seek help. It was a flyer from
Dr. Prager that caught my eye, and with great reservation, I set an appointment.
There really isn’t a large assortment of people (professional or otherwise), that would make
me want to sit down and write a letter of recommendation, but after experiencing many
hours of rectifying all the past neglect, I can honestly say it’s a pleasure to do so for Dr.
Jeffrey Prager. There were no surprises, extremely minimal discomfort (I’ve had worse
paper cuts), very considerate, the welcomed manner of reassurance was comforting, no
waiting room time, plus I feel it was fairly priced for the amount of major work required.
Another highlight of my visits to your office, was being greeted and kept up to date by Ellen
and Diane. Every office should be so lucky to have staff such as Doctor Prager has. And
lastly, his “right hand” gal, Doris, was a delight to get to know and have a little fun with at
Jeffrey’s expense.
Because of your gentle practices and knowledgeable staff, I now have no excuse to not
adhere to good oral maintenance.
Thanks to you all.

"There were more than enough positives to the procedure: Little pain, little bleeding,
less recovery time, fewer follow-up visits and even the cost ... much less expensive
than my previous traditional surgery."
Dear Dr. Prager:
I'm writing to express how happy I am with my recent Laser Periodontal Therapy (LANAP)
surgery you performed on October 17th.
Imagine how totally depressing the thought of yet another "traditional" surgery was to me at
my initial exam with you. I'd gone that route: 20 hours of surgery to remove portions of my
gums (full mouth, mind you), a skin graft from the top of my mouth, and five months of pain
and "modified" eating! At the age of 60, I wasn't looking forward to it one bit.
So, when you mentioned LANAP, I thought I'd put my "research team" on it. Teresa (my
"team"), my wife, began with the video on your web site and then did a great deal more
reading. What we learned made us both excited. Could it be true that you could not only
stop the damage that was occurring but actually reverse it?
There were more than enough positives to the procedure: Little pain, little bleeding, less
recovery time, fewer follow-up visits and even the cost ... much less expensive than my
previous traditional surgery. And in contrast, there also plenty of negatives to not getting it
done. I know the health risks associated with gum problems and while I'm fortunate that I've
not experienced any thus far, I know that the potential exists. I was more concerned when
you told me I could pass this disease onto my wife. You're the first professional to tell me
that.
Well, it makes me quite happy to say it was what you promised and more. The surgery went
much better than I expected. I was anticipating a certain level of pain with the laser but as it
turned out, the sensation was like feeling a ball point pen touching the back of your hand
with a feeling of warmth where the pen tip touched the skin.
My recovery was both better than I expected and substantially faster than my original oral
surgery over 15 years ago. Best of all, you were able to complete the surgery for my entire
mouth in just over half a day versus the four 5-hour appointments for each quadrant that I
had to endure previously.
While I was happy with how it went, I was anxious to hear how you perceived its success
based on my post-op appointments. I was completely blown away with your comments on
how well I was doing. With continued vigilance on my part, I think I'll have this under control.
In all honesty Dr. Prager, unless one has had a previous experience like I had, they can't
possibly understand the fear and apprehension. The time you spent with Teresa and me
prior to the surgery answering our questions was invaluable. You made me feel quite
comfortable in the procedure and certainly very confident in your abilities.
Thank you once again Dr. Prager; I appreciate the fact that you're forward-thinking and
invest in the most effective tools for your patient's comfort and dental health. Your team,
Doris, Diane, and Ellen, added to my comfort during the surgery and I appreciate their
professionalism and attention to me as well. I'd be happy to speak with any of your patients
who are considering this procedure.
Best Regards,
Phil Lauer
Dr. Prager assured me that things were not as hopeless as they may have seemed. He
told me about the LANAP procedure and how this revolutionary new laser could
actually re-grow bone and tissue that had been destroyed by the bacteria that had
been growing unchecked in my mouth. Essentially the laser could remove and
reverse the extensive damage of the disease. Also appealing was that this procedure
was nearly painless with little post-op recovery time.
Talk about fate. It was on the recommendation of a friend that I called upon Dr. Prager to
evaluate many years of avoiding dental care, bad habits and a vigorously grinding jaw. I
expected to hear that my loose teeth, bleeding gums and bad breath would call for drastic
measures. I am in my 30’s and it was devastating to think that I could lose teeth. Also that I
could have let things deteriorate to this level. I also expected to be harshly criticized for the
state of my teeth. Things could not have been more different.
Overall Dr. Prager was very supportive and did an excellent job explaining what was
happening in my mouth. He showed me the x-rays, visual aids and even the actual bacteria.
I had lost a significant amount of bone and gum tissue and I was in an advanced stage of
gum disease. My teeth and gums were twice my age, YIKES! My condition was bad but he
reassured me that things could still be much worse. He spoke of the conventional options
that I may have had to choose from had I randomly chosen another doctor. Conventional
options would not cure this disease but only keep it in check. Fortunately I was especially
lucky that fate and Dr. Prager allowed me to avoid the most extreme, the painful cutting and
stitching of gum surgery.

worries would have been a reality. I decided on the LANAP procedure because I wanted to
go back, to get the chance to improve my condition rather than live with what I had let
happen. It’s not too often that we get a chance to turn back the clock, I was in.
It was really in no time after the laser procedure that I was feeling relatively normal.
Now 6 months following the procedure, I no longer have bleeding gums and the bad
breath is in check.
At my last post-treatment visit my hopes have been realized when my gums were re-
checked. The deep pockets of disease appear to have been removed and the gum and
bone tissue is re-growing. It really is phenomenal what the laser was able to do. It went
beyond what I was really expecting. It was fate that I walked into Dr. Prager’s office at the
same time that this revolutionary new procedure had made its way to Bellingham. When I
expected the worst, he immediately gave me hope and then delivered. I would recommend
the LANAP procedure to anyone looking for a new beginning or to take care of a problem
area. I just want to thank Dr. Prager and Doris who did a fantastic job during the procedure
and to Diane and Ellen who take care of the business out front. Where would my smile be
without you all!
Thank you for all you do!

"Teeth that were loose are now firm in their sockets. Pockets that were 8-9 are
now 2-3. I do not have abscesses or pain and look forward to continuing with the
next step for health & appearance."
About 16 years ago I had traditional periodontal surgery. Over the years after the surgery I
lost 2 more teeth. The surgery had shortened my gums to make cleaning easier, but did
not cause any improvement in my bone loss and damage. I continued to have bone loss
and have teeth loosen in their sockets, I had repeated abscesses and discomfort.
Last year I came to Dr. Prager to find what I could do to improve the appearance of my
teeth. Dr. Prager’s exam showed that before we could address cosmetic matters we
needed to save my teeth. I had deep pockets--some measuring 9-12, and there was pus &
blood in multiple areas. I had only recently had another severe abscess. We opted for
laser surgery. It has now been over 1 year. Teeth that were loose are now firm in their
sockets. Pockets that were 8-9 are now 2-3. I do not have abscesses or pain and look
forward to continuing with the next step for health & appearance.
Dr. Prager and staff have always been kind & friendly and very professional. I am so happy
to have found a dentist who is able to help me.
